The Tigers have been well backed since the teams were announced and are now 6.5 point favourites to beat the Cats on Saturday. Considering they were 28.5 point underdogs last season in the corresponding fixture this could be seen as something of a surprise.
I’m still not sure what to make of the Cats as they looked very good in the opening quarters against both Hawthorn and North Melbourne only to look like a completely different outfit from the second quarter onwards.
Steve Johnson is back in the starting line up after being dropped to the subs bench last week in what could prove to be an inspired move by Chris Scott. He will surely come out firing this week.
Geelong have won their last 10 matches against the Tigers by a whopping average of 51 points and even taking out the biggest two victories – by 108 and 157 – the average win still stands at 30.5 points.
The Tigers are the Tigers and could look like world beaters or wooden spooners. I’m hoping for the latter.
