If this match was to be played at Patersons Stadium I would make the Eagles in the region of $1.16 to come out on top.
The average odds for them to win at the Etihad today is $1.18 and that has to be too short.
The Saints have only won two of their seven matches in 2015 but they have played creditably for the most part in their last three games. They should have beaten the Bombers then finished like a train to beat the Bulldogs before starting well against Adelaide before being overpowered in the second half, when the early injury to Nick Riewoldt obviously would not have helped their cause.
West Coast have done remarkably well to sit second on the ladder with a long injury list but when you look at the teams they’ve beaten it’s not such a shock that they have a 5 and 2 record.
They have beaten Carlton, Brisbane, GWS, Port and Gold Coast.
GWS had an off day while Port are out of form.
I’m happy to take a chance on the Saints here. They have conceded fewer than 90 points in their three games at Etihad this year while in West Coast’s four visits to Etihad since 2014 they have scored 89, 103, 87 and 74.
