Around four units profit from our Football League tips at the weekend and with late goals in the Cheltenham and Exeter games costing us over 8 units we can count ourselves a touch unlucky I think.
No Championship fixtures this week which leaves us with League 1 and League 2 matches to get stuck into.
MK Dons vs Chesterfield
This is a case of the moveable object vs the stoppable force as MK Dons – 0/9 at home – take on Chesterfield – 0/9 away.
MK Dons have, incredibly, won the shot count in all nine of their home fixtures yet are still searching for their first win of the season. They haven’t won a match in the league since October 1st and the fact they are odds on for this match illustrates just how bad Chesterfield are.
At the odds we have to take a chance on Chesterfield. MK Dons’ form has not improved at all since they sacked their manager a few games ago and hopefully non- rapist Ched Evans will return for the Spireites.
The Blades can be very good at home, as they were when having 30 shots with 10 on target when beating Shrewsbury at the weekend, and they are rightly odds on to beat Bury at Brammal Lane. Bury have a leaky defence but have also found the net 13 times in their nine away games so there’s a chance if United’s strikers have an off day of a big surprise result in this one.
I make Luton clear favourites in this one but the market disagrees with their odds drifting from $2.76 to $3.04 with Pinny since the odds went up. They have both won 8 from 17 matches while The Hatters have lost two fewer games than Pompey to sit 2 points above them in the table. I make Portsmouth a better team at home by some margin so am happy to take them on here.
