Thanks to Sheffield United for coming up trumps for us last Sunday to make a decent weekend of it in the end. They’re one of those big clubs with an expensive squad who get stuck in a lowly division because of their poor home form (eg themselves last year and Portsmouth in League 2). Maybe something about the expectant crowd inhibits their performance; you see players go missing on the park. We’ve made good money from opposing these at home over the years but they often show their true colours under less pressure, away. (I recently moved to within the roar of the crowd when the Blades score at home – so i’m told…)
We very nearly went for Ipswich at Reading in Friday’s Championship game but err’d on the side of caution. A late winner saw the home side edge a match that could have gone either way or neither; so let’s be grateful for that before we even start. The Tractor Boys were too big at $3.6. There are plenty in the same mould that we will be having though, so scratch your itchy fingers with some gambling. They’re all at prices, so hang on to your hats. You know the form – we think they’re all underestimated and hope for three winners from the eight. We’ve done three better than that in the past, and three worse, so nothing surprises us.
