Skeeter’s off on his travels so i’m filling in and looking for a winner, or a place getter, or a golfer who briefly looks like making the cut.
So what do we know about TPC Four Seasons golf course?
It’s not overly long by today’s standards at 7166 yards and quite narrow
It’s a tree lined par 70
It’s in Texas so wind is often in play
It has bent grass greens
The main contenders are headed by world number 1 Dustin Johnson at the punitive odds of just $5.50 with Spieth, Garcia and Koepka next in line. I couldn’t back Dustin at those odds while Spieth is out of form having missed the cut at the Players. Sergio won here last year – when Koepka really should have – but i’m not sure he’ll be as focused as he was last week and Koepka is too short at $17. Jason Day is next at $21 but his mental state is in question.
I’m tempted by Hoffman and Henley but this event can throw up a huge priced winner so we’ll skip along to those priced 100/1+.
Billy Hurley III is a bent grass green specialist so you’d hope that his 8th placed finish at Eagle Point two starts ago is a taste of things to come now he’s back on his favoured type of green. He went a bit better than his 41st placed finish here last year suggests and he can go well at big odds.

Patrick Rodgers went into the mental notebook in this event last year after he started 67, 65 to be bang in contention going into the weekend before shooting one over on Saturday ands Sunday to finish 46th. I have absolutely nothing else to recommend him on but on that alone i have to be on at huge odds.
