No joy at the Open Championship for us with Brooks Koepka missing the places by a single shot.

The Canadian Open is the next stop for the PGA Tour at Glen Abbey Golf Club, Ontario, a par 72 with small bent grass greens.

We are going with four outsiders this week so let’s hope we get a big payoff come Monday morning.

Andres Romero has recent form figures of 14, mc, 6 and 10 so is in good form. He has a decent record in the Canadian Open with most recent finishes of 3, 21 and 20 with the middle of those at this track.

Roberto Castro finished 6th at this course in 2013 and he’s a bit of a stab in the dark at a huge price. His two most recent finishes of 44th and 23rd give a small clue that he could return to form at a course he’s done well at.

Retief Goosen played really well at the Open to finish 20th, backing up a 4th placed finish at the end of June. He finished 2nd in 2009 at this course and 10th and 12th in his last two starts in this event.

William McGirt has two 2nd place finishes in this event and his form figures don’t really represent his solid recent form. He is always on our 1st round leader radar as is generally a fast starter.

0.5 units each way 1st round leader at $81 with Screenshot 2015-06-21 14.43.30 (UK version – should be same odds when Aus firms go up)
