Golf: Crowne Plaza Invitational
free bets bet 365

The Crowne Plaza Invitational is the next stop for the PGA Tour and this 35/35 Par 70 course is one for the purists.

The small greens – average size 4,400 sq ft – make Colonial a real ball strikers course with tee to green ability paramount. Expect players like Graham DeLaet, John Senden, Louis Oosthuizen and Boo Weekley to excel here.

Ryan Palmer will no doubt be popular in the markets too. Not only is he ranked 6th in all round ball striking over the last 6 months but he’s also a member at Colonial and his caddy is the reigning club champion. It’s safe to say they both know this course pretty well.

Recent form has not proved to be vital in recent years but course form most certainly is with the last five winners all having recorded a top 15 finish in one of their three previous visits.

The top three players on the ODDY ratings – Furyk, Spieth and Zach Johnson – are all priced at $17 or under so we can give them a miss this week.

Louis Oosthuizen had a share of the lead going into the final round last week but with only one previous attempt at the Colonial course I’m reluctantly going to leave him out too.

John Huh is the first bet this week. He’s only played this tournament twice but a 5th place and an 11th placed finish suggest his game is well suited to the track.

Brian Stuard has a similar profile to Louis Oosthuizen, good recent form with a 5th and a 17th in the last 4 weeks but only one visit to Colonial, a 22nd placed finish last year. The big difference between the two however is in their odds. Oosthuizen is $51 while Stuard is $151. We’ll take a chance on the latter despite him not being the typical ball striker that the course generally suits.

The next player i’m interested in is the reigning champion here, Boo Weekley, one of the best ball strikers on tour. He should come here full of confidence after a 5th placed finish in the Byron Nelson Championship last week.

The last player on the bet list is from just outside the top 10 on the ODDY ratings but with recent form of 42, 8, 29, 26 and 11 to go with course form of 18, 56, 8, 37 and MC i’m going to go with John Senden. Like Boo Weekley he is one of the best tee to green players around and he’s in the best form of his life.

Screenshot 2014-05-20 09.41.10 Senden is a best priced $41 at the moment but is available at $51 with a couple of UK bookies and is currently $61 to win and $11 for a top 5 finish on Screenshot 2014-05-20 09.43.12
