No luck last week with our 50/1 each way pick, Brendon Todd,  falling short by a single shot in finishing 6th.

We’ll go quite easy this week, although i’m keen on all three of our picks, as we have the Open Championship looming next week where we’ll be outlaying more than the usual amount of units.

The John Deere Classic has been dominated by Steve Stricker and Zach Johnson in recent years with Jordan Spieth also getting in on the act with a win and a 7th place in the last two years.

Harris English has not quite hit his very best form in 2015 but there are signs that he could be about to do just that. His recent form figures on the PGA Tour read 18, 45 and 25 while last week he finished tied for 2nd in a charity event that he played with the USWPGA Tour player Lexi Thompson.

I was cursing not putting up Justin Thomas last week after three rounds (67, 67, 66) but breathed a sigh of relief as he shot a 75 in round four.

That poor final round has added a good few points to his odds this week.

Scott Langley is a local here having been born and gone to college in Illinois. His last two opening rounds of 65 and 62 show he’s in good nick and his recent form figures are the sort to get me very excited: MC, 68, 25, 13.
