It’s the third renewal of the Made In Denmark event at Himmerland Golf and Spa resort, a par 71 that has a premium on controlling approach shots in the wind and solid chipping and putting. It is not a long course and neither distance off the tee, nor accuracy off the tee have been important in the first two events held here.
Our first pick is a man we tipped up last week on the PGA Tour, Shane Lowry.
Lowry has had a torrid time since his 2nd at the USOPEN but showed good signs of a return to form last week at the Wyndham where he would have finished much higher up the leaderboard if it wasn’t for two uncharacteristic double bogies at par 5’s. Two pars at those holes would have seen him inside the top 20. He needs a good showing with a wild card Ryder Cup spot very much up for grabs. He plays in the wind well and is a good chipper and scrambler.

We know Marc Warren can turn it on around here as he won the event in 2014. Finishes of 16th and 11th in his last two events should have him contending this week and his odds are a few points bigger than i’d have them. He plays the wind well.

Next up we have American David Lipsky. He was 6th last week in the Czech Masters and his solid form here of a 15th and a 14th placed finish make his odds look decent again.

Regular readers will know that i don’t mind tipping Aussie Brett Rumford on tracks where driving is not of a premium and this track should suit him given his prowess around the greens and his excellent iron play in the wind. He’s been in poor form and his odds reflect this but his 19th placed finish last week was promising.
