Golf: McGladrey Classic
free bets bet 365

By Vince Eager

The McGladrey Classic is held for the 5th time at the Sea Island Club on Saint Simmons Island in Georgia.

The Seaside Course is an easy par 70 American links style with characteristics similar in many ways to harbour Town where the Heritage is played.

Good previous course form has not appeared to be vital so far but we are only working on four previous tournaments so that could change this week.

Long drivers cannot blast their way around this course and scrambling and putting will be the key stats we’ll look at to try and find the winner.

Webb Simpson

I rarely recommend backing players as short as former US Open Champion Webb Simpson is this week but I just can’t leave him out of the staking plan. He has recent form figures of 12, 2 and 7 at this course and current form figures of 9, 53, 23 and 4.

Scott Langley

Scott Langley’s 22nd place finish in this event last year catches the eye as he wasn’t in the best of form at the time and his tied for 17th at the Fry’s.com Open in his last start could also have been a lot better as he shot a 74 in round 4 when in contention. Langley finished t21 in scrambling on the PGA Tour in 2014.

Scott Brown

Scott Brown is always of interest on easy scoring courses and with finishes of 20th and 4th here in his two starts he clearly has a liking for this particular easy track. He is in the form of his life with recent form figures of 12 and 10 so far this season and he is just about value at his current odds.

Robert Allenby

Grumpy Bob Allenby must have been tempted to play in the Perth International in his home country this week but instead he’s chosen to play on the PGA Tour at an event he finished 3rd in in 2010. He tied for 8th in the Fry’s.com Open before missing the cut last week. It’s early doors in the season but his driving accuracy, GIR and scrambling stats are all improved from 2014.
