Golf: Memorial Tournament
free bets bet 365

The PGA Tour makes its way to Dublin, Ohio for the Memorial Tournament at the Jack Nicklaus designed Muirfield Village Golf Club.

This is another week for the golf purists with undulating greens and a course that demands shot shape more than distance off the tee.

Matt Kuchar defends the title he won last year coming off a very rare missed cut last week.

Aussie Jason Day makes his first appearance since the Masters at a course he’ll be very familiar with, living as he does in Muirfield Village.

Reigning champion Matt Kuchar rates very highly on the ODDY ratings but at current odds of $17 and coming off a missed cut we can swerve him this week.

Gary Woodland is very tempting at $41 with progressive form figures recently of 18, 11 and 7 to go along with a 6th and a 16th placed finish at Muirfield Village but better value at the top end of the market is Dustin Johnson.

Johnson has the following form figures at this course: 14, 33, 4, 19 and a missed cut last year. He’s coming to the boil nicely with recent finishes of 7th and 14th on the PGA Tour and he’s had 6 rounds in the 60’s from his last 8 on tour. His 74 in round 3 last week possibly cost him a win and I give him as good a chance as any this week so at $26 with Screenshot 2014-05-21 12.52.51 or Screenshot 2014-05-27 09.04.54 I want to be on.

The next bet suggestion is Bo Van Pelt who has form figures of 3, 13, 13 and 21 here to complement recent form of 26 and 14. He does not win enough and has been in a form slump before the last month or so but he clearly goes well here and at $81 each way with Screenshot 2014-05-27 09.04.54 I like the bet.

Russell Henley is a player whose recent form does not appear to be a reliable indicator of upcoming form as his win this year came after a missed cut as did his three of his 4 top tens last year and his win in 2012. He finished 6th here in his first visit last year and his game should be really well suited to Muirfield Village, especially if he can get a hot putter going.  He is $81 each way with Screenshot 2014-05-21 12.52.51

The last selection is a player we’ve done our money on recently in Rory Sabbatini. His most recent form is not the best with a 45th place and a missed cut following a couple of top 10s in the last 6 weeks but what is encouraging is his 12th here in 2010 and his 2nd place in 2012 and especially that the 2nd place came after missing four cuts in six tournaments in 2012.

Sabbatini is $101 each way with Screenshot 2014-05-04 12.26.40
