A full place payout on Branden Grace’s 6th placed finish at the US Open at $141 made it a winning week for us but for a long time it looked as if we might better the $91 winner we had with Martin Kaymer last year as Grace was tied for the lead with 3 to play before slicing his drive out of bounds on 16.

This week we are at TPC River Highlands in an event that has followed the US Open for nine years.

We’ll be looking for players with good putting stats and solid recent form.

Brandt Snedeker’s double bogey on the 14th on Sunday stopped his charge into the places but he continued his impressive run of form to finish 8th.

His recent form figures now read 17, mc, 2, 6, 8 and he finished 11th here last year and 24th in 2011.

Billy Herschel shot a 67 to close at Chambers Bay and he is a winner waiting to happen with form figures of 17, 13, 11, 8 and 25. He last played in this event in 2012 when he finished 24th.

Justin Thomas should benefit from a week off and his performance here in 2013 was an eye-catching one as he was bang in contention for the first three rounds before fading out of it to finish 30th. He is much more experienced now and I like his chances.

Cameron Smith is a baby faced Aussie that has been on our radar for a couple of years now. He had a brilliant week at the US Open with a top 5 finish and he’ll remember the long approach for a tap in eagle on 18 for the rest of his life.

Smith is a brilliant putter and is overpriced this week for sure.
