The PGA Tour visits TPC Louisiana for the Zurich Classic this week and with plenty of big priced winners over the last 8 years – since the event has been played here – we’ll be looking for a few long shots to continue the trend.

After a few weeks off we are back on the Justin Thomas train this week. He returned to form with an 11th placed finish last week and with debutants having won here five time in the last eight years we should not be put off by the fact of him not having played here before.

Cameron Tringale is another young player looking for his maiden PGA Tour victory and form figures at this event of 28, 18, 7, mc and 17 mean that he should come here full of confidence. He finished a creditable 38th at Augusta and 5th in the Houston Open the week prior to that.

Troy Merritt led for three rounds last week and held his form pretty well to finish 3rd. He also finished third at this event in 2010 and is too big a price to contend again this week.

Robert Streb was second here last year and showed just about enough last week when 44th to suggest he’s coming back to something like the form that saw him claim four top 10s earlier in the season. He became a first time father 6 weeks ago so could just be about to reap the nappy factor benefits.

Alex Cejka is an underrated player who won as recently as last month and has some decent form in this event with two top 25s in his last three appearances.
