The first of the elimination finals takes place in Townsville on Saturday night, with Queensland counterparts North Qld and Brisbane doing battle.
The Broncos had a nervous wait to finally secure their position in the finals, whilst the Cowboys continued their good run of form by disposing of Manly.
The Cowboys have won just 5 of the past 17 clashes at this ground against the Broncos, however more recently they have won 3 of the last 4 encounters.
Honours have also been evenly shared this season, with Brisbane victorious 16-12 in round 2 and the Cowboys getting the nod here 27-14 in Round 9.
North Qld have also won their past 10 matches here this season, whilst the Broncos are winless in their past 5 away matches.
The Cowboys form is certainly better than that of their southern counterparts heading into a finals series, however with this being a local derby and elimination match, I think the Broncos are over the odds.
Brisbane showed me enough against Melbourne last week in what was potentially an elimination game for them and I think they can win or run the Cowboys very close in this one.
