Last season’s premiers continue their title defence on Saturday, when they host this year’s fairy-tale story in the Penrith Panthers.
Penrith have overcome much adversity this season to secure a Top 4 finish, and they will need to be at their very best when they face competition favourites the Roosters in their own backyard.
The Roosters have won 5 of the past 6 clashes at this venue against Penrith, including a recent 32-12 victory in Round 19 this season.
High scoring has also been prevalent between these two, with 4 of the past 6 matches here and 5 of the last 7 overall registering 44pts or more.
The Roosters have won 9 of their past 10 matches at home, and despite missing some players through suspension look awfully hard to beat.
Penrith have been very game this year, however there is a distinct possibility that they could be overawed by the occasion given the inexperience in their ranks.
Regardless, I think this will be a fairly open game with plenty of ball movement and the current total of 38.5 looks inviting.
