One could argue this is a season defining game for the Canberra Raiders when they host the Panthers in this Sunday afternoon encounter.
After conceding 50+ points in consecutive matches, the Raiders have made a host of changes as coach Ricky Stuart searches for answers to turn their struggling season around.
The Panthers have enjoyed a solid start to the season thus far, however they are yet to win back to back matches and will get no better opportunity than here against the hapless Raiders.
These two met in Round 5, with the Panthers prevailing 12-6 at Sportingbet Stadium, and they will be looking to complete the double here just as they did last week against Newcastle.
Canberra have won 9 of the past 15 matches at home against Penrith, however their recent home record is poor having won just 1 of their last 7, and given current form they appear up against it here.
In saying that, and you could be excused for thinking I’m on narcotics here, I’m declaring Canberra as morals in this one.
Anthony Milford’s playing future is now sorted, albeit away from Canberra next year, and I think he will get back to what he does best and that is playing football, so look for a much improved performance from the livewire fullback and his teammates to galvanise around him.
