Eleven teams rear their unfancied, if not ugly, heads today. Having fared so well lately, the plan was to go on with caution lest our luck runs out, but there are two reasons to resist the temptation to bet less. One is that our idea of value in the football league keeps on coming from the layers. In any case, it would be to over-think things if we changed our approach. Football managers’ theme of the season is to avoid reacting too emotionally to heavy defeat or terrific win alike, and there’s sense in that for us. We’ll keep doing as we have been, so here we go again:
