We hedged our futures bet on GWS at this time last week and subsequent events against the Pies – where they not only lost the match but also lost three of their most important players in Mumford, Davies and Patful for most or all of the rest of the season – proved that to be a shrewd move.
We could still do with the Giants making the finals but at least we are on a winner either way.
I think North will win this and it will be a huge bonus to us if I am proved wrong. The line of 13.5 points looks hard to call, however, as GWS do have an impressive record at home and this could see them go close.
The bet for us is the unders. The line is set at 183.5 and there is significant rain forecast over the next couple of days so the oval should be wet even if the rain has stopped by the time of the match.
GWS are 3/7 to the under at home since the start of last season and 2/6 off a 6 day break (4/14 since 2012).
