Melbourne vs Gold Coast

Melbourne were awful in 2014 and 2013 and 2012 and 2011. Should we expect much improvement in 2015? Well, they can’t get much worse so perhaps we should?

They have improved the squad with the additions of Lumumba and Garlett but how well the latter of those will react to getting beaten most weeks has to be of concern.

I’ll be surprised if Melbourne win more than the four games they won in 2014.

Gold Coast’s 2014 season went to bits when Gary Ablett got injured against Collingwood in round 16. They were 9 and 6 after that game and finished with 10 wins and 12 losses.

Before that point, however, they were on track for a top 8 spot for the 1st time with many of their players having break out seasons.

They should be too strong for Melbourne despite their inexperience at the MCG.

The total points line is set at 155.5 and this looks a little on the low side. I’d be closer to 163.
