Round 10 rolls in on Friday night when the Sydney Swans play hosts to The North Melbourne Kangaroos. The Kanga’s continue to get the job done and their thrashing of Carlton in round 9 took them to 9/0.

So how can they be in receipt of up to 3 goals on the spread in tonight’s match?

Because they play the Swans at the SCG where they have been absolutely dominant in recent years, that’s why.

Sydney are have won 17 of their last 20 matches at the Sydney Cricket Ground going back to the start of 2014 and are 4/0 there in 2016 and 4/0 at the line.

The average winning margin in those 17 wins is 46 points while they’ve also won 8 of the last 10 meetings against the Kangaroos.

Kurt Tippett is improving rapidly as a ruckman and Callum Sinclair has also impressed. Their battle with Todd Goldstein will be key to how the Swans fare tonight.

The midfield battle should be enthralling and I just give the edge to the Swans in this department.

The recent nonsense spouted about the Swans kicking too often to Buddy Franklin was just laughable. The week before this often repeated cliche was rolled out by some lazy journo Isaac Heaney had scored 5 goals!

I predicted a forthcoming slump for North in last week’s preview and unfortunately for Carlton line backers – like me – this did not materialise. I still think it might happen though and it could well start tonight with a thumping from the rampaging Swans, led from the front by Buddy Franklin.

Next up on Saturday afternoon is a rare as hen’s teeth visit to the Gabba for Hawthorn to take on the lilly livered Leppitsch led Lions.

Hawthorn lost last week to the Swans and their record of 12 wins and a single defeat following their losses since 2014 suggests the Lions are in for a torrid time tomorrow.

Hawthorn like a day time match too with a 19/3 S/U and 15/8 ATS record in that time.

The line sits at around the 45.5 mark after a gang of hallucinogenic drug addled punters backed the Lions in from 54.5.

Let’s take a wee peek at what Brisbane have done so far in 2016.

They’ve beaten the Gold Coast Suns. That, my learned friends, is the sum of it.

They’ve been spectacular in defeat, however, shipping 166 points to West Coast, 136 to Port, 131 to Melbourne and 143 to the Pies.

The Hawks are likely to score 120+ so can the Lions get to 80 odd to cover the line? I very much doubt it. In fact I think the Hawks can score 150+ while the Lions chase their tails for 4 quarters.
