Another good week for us in round 3 with the mighty Gold Coast Suns once again doing the business for us at the tasty odds of $5.50.
R3: 9 bets, 9.5 units stakes for +7.8 units
2019 to date: 22 bets, 25.5 units staked for +13.44 units
The ‘marathon not a sprint’ caveat applies as usual but it’s nice to get off to a good start nevertheless.
Plenty of action for us in round 4, with our odds favouring quite a few outsiders.
We have no bet in the Sydney v Melbourne match that kicks off round 4 unless the odds shift a fair bit. Our odds make it just about a coin toss so lean towards Melbourne who are nowhere near as bad as they’ve looked at times and will come good at some stage.
I’ll almost certainly be at the Collingwood vs West Coast match at the MCG on Friday night so am pleased that there is a decent looking bet for me to cheer on. We make the line 21 points in the Pies favour so i’m happy to take the +32.5 on the Dogs with Topsport and a unit at $5 straight up with the same firm.
I quite like the Cats vs GWS but am avoiding minus lines like this as per last week’s analysis and the 40+ does not appeal. No bet.
Essendon bounced back to form for us last week and we are taking them to beat the Lions in what should be good match on Saturday at the MCG. 1.5 units Essendon at $1.9 with Ladbrokes.
Richmond have been pretty bad so far in 2019 but Port have not been great themselves and the four goal line looks a fair bit too big to me. We make it more like two goals so like the Tiges at $3.7 with Ladbrokes and +26.5 for 1 unit each.
North weren’t too bad against the Hawks in round 3 and we are taking them to beat the Crows at $2.4 and +9.5 with Sportsbet for a unit each.
West Coast should take care of Fremantle in the derby on Saturday night but I can’t resist a nibble on the Dockers at $7 on Betfair for half a unit and +36.5 with Sportsbet for a unit as the line and odds just look a little too big.
Gold Coast are the only favourite we are backing in round 4 (leaving out the Cats) and we are going with the 40+ option for half a unit at $6 with Sportsbet.
St Kilda have done us a couple of favours already in 2019 and we are hoping they can finish off round 4 for us in style by beating the Hawks. One unit on each of St Kilda at $3.2 with Topbetta ($3+ is good) and +18.5 with Beteasy.
