The West Coast Flattrackers take on the Essendon Syringes at Domain Stadium in the big Thursday night blockbuster (walkover).
There has been a lot of yap regarding whether West Coast deserve their nickname and these stats might sway you one way or the other.
West Coast since start of 2014 as minimum 50 point favourites: 6/0 straight up, 5/1 at the spread
West Coast since start of 2014 as minimum 40 point favourites: 10/0 S/U, 9/1 ATS
West Coast since start of 2014 as minimum 40 point favourites: 18/0 S/U, 15/3 ATS
The average winning margin in the 18 wins as 30 point or more favourites was 65.2 points.
If that’s not the record of a flat track bully then show me one that is!
Essendon are 4/9 ATS in 2016 but did cover against GWS, Sydney and North.
If the Ringes get out of the blocks and limit West Coast’s scoring in the opening quarter then the minus line will be in trouble but they have won just two opening quarters in 2016 and last week’s effort was against a really switched of GWS team who clearly thought they could just turn up and win easily.
