Our first foray into the in-play world of Australian Football went well last week with no bet in the Port Adelaide game as they never got to a backable price and a nice trade on the Hawthorn match against the Bulldogs where we backed the Hawks at $3.30 and laid them at $1.25 for a very tidy profit. This added to the 1.5 units we chucked at the Hawks at close to evens before the match added up to a very solid result overall.
The Dogs vs Hawks match was a perfect one for trading with Hawthorn hitting a low of $1.10 in the opening quarter and getting to as big as $5 in the final period.
In round 3 eight of the nine winning teams trailed at some point in the match, although Sydney only trailed by a single point, as did the Cats while Port were a maximum of 2 points behind to Essendon.
As for tonight’s match West Coast are a tough proposition at home and we’ll look to get with them if Richmond get off to a flying start (3 goals in front) in the first quarter or at least two goals up in the second or third quarter.
It might also be possible to get a very cheap lay of West Coast in early in the match. If they go three goals up they could get very short – in the region of $1.08 – and i would not put anyone off getting involved at that point either. I will be.
