Saturday 28th February

“It’s not the despair – I can stand the despair. It’s the hope…”. So felt Brian Stimpson in Clockwise, and so did I at the weekend in anticipation of the remaining eleven 3 o’clock matches we had after two cracking early results. The hope wasn’t exactly relieved by only one subsequent winner from them though, finishing just a few pints up. (Don’t know about you but I drank them.)

Chesterfield v Fleetwood

Of these two good teams, Fleetwood shade it on form though not by much. They are of a standard, the two, so Fleetwood are a good bet at the $3.83 with Screenshot 2014-05-03 15.52.18

Doncaster v Colchester

Colchester are the bet at $5.0 with Screenshot 2014-05-03 13.10.10

Walsall v Leyton Orient

It’s only a feeling, and I’ve a feeling that Orient are going to be alright, and finish the season one of the divisions best six or seven sides. Walsall shouldn’t be far behind, but if you see the Orient at bigger than $3 , you should take them…They are $3.0 with Screenshot 2014-05-03 13.10.10

Luton v Accrington Stanley

Luton have conceded a good few shots at home, despite reasonable results there of late, but Stanley proved they have matured in handling the excellent Burton in midweek, to end their 13 game unbeaten streak. Take Stanley at $4.33 with Screenshot 2014-05-03 13.10.10

Mansfield v Dagenham & Redbridge

The Daggers are a marvellous bet at $3.92 with Screenshot 2014-06-06 12.59.13

Portsmouth v Oxford

It’s true that the league table doesn’t lie, but only when each team has played all the others twice. For now, Oxford are better than their results and league position suggest, and this could well become a tight game if the home side don’t take an early advantage. Oxford at $3.4 with Screenshot 2014-05-03 13.10.10

Shrewsbury v Northampton

So many of Shrewsbury’s games have been close won affairs in this excellent season for them. Northampton haven’t played one of the best in the class for a good few weeks, but have gone close when they did, and improved since then. They’re a decent long shot at $5.25 with Screenshot 2014-05-21 12.49.05

Wycombe v Stevenage

Stevenage to prove their promotion credentials with an away win at Wycombe, who have made the fatal mistake of looking down having reached the top of the ladder. $3.60 with Screenshot 2014-05-03 13.10.10

York v Exeter

York are so up and down, their Grand Old Duke could be marching them that way. Exeter aren’t much better but they’re fancied as the better side generally, and a good bet at $4.0 with Screenshot 2015-02-28 15.16.54
