Burton are definitely lacking something, as for all their good play they usually come away with nothing. I too lack something from this; twelve units to be precise. May as well round it up to an apposite thirteen here. They did win at Rotherham last time out (at odds much too short for us). While Rangers are a different animal under Ian Holloway, they’re not impervious at the back and I fancy goals at either end. For all the heartache hitherto, Burton are still value at $3.95 to nick this with

Reading v CARDIFF

Cardiff are not what their manager would like them to be, but he’s good at making them the next best thing. They ran Brighton close in midweek and will set up to frustrate Reading as they did then, and will have a spell of chances if they can keep it close early on. $3.60 is a shade generous with Screenshot 2014-05-03 13.10.10

Fleetwood v SOUTHEND

Fleetwood’s professional performance in sinking mighty Sheffield United at their place on Tuesday was as impressive as our backing them at $8. They are shaping up as one of the better sides in the division under Uwe Rosler, but so are Southend under Phil Brown. The Cod army look like granite at home judging by results, but the recent 3-1 scoreline against Bristol Rovers flattered them, and Southend should get to create chances. This makes them attractive to win it at $3.50 with Screenshot 2014-05-03 13.10.10

Gillingham v SHREWSBURY

This one looks like a tight game to call in any direction. The Shrews have been pretty busy in getting hold of good young players on loan, and it’s anybody’s guess how they’ll perform. The Gills are a little more stable, but it’s hard to believe they’re entirely happy with their squad. In an inscrutable match-up, I’m with Shrewsbury at $3.50 with Screenshot 2014-05-03 13.10.10

Carlisle v BARNET

Just about good enough value on Barnet here. Carlisle have made the mistake of looking down while they were climbing the ladder and have gone a bit light-headed. They may well arrest that under Keith Curle, but they might not yet against Barnet who are effective away. $4.0 for them with Screenshot 2014-05-03 13.10.10

It looks like Cambridge have improved themselves in the loan market and playing pretty well. Luton have been susceptible at the back, especially at home. The away team will probably score, and they’re worth a flutter at $3.40 or better. That price with

Portsmouth v EXETER

The bet of the week, this one. Exeter are pretty good, Portsmouth aren’t THAT good. There’s bound to be a bias built into the prices for each to win based on the disparate statuses of the two clubs. Exeter to win at $5.25 with Screenshot 2014-05-03 13.10.10
