Rory McIlroy is the red hot favourite ($3.50) this week at a track where he’s won twice  and not been out of the top 10 in his last six visits which inflates the odds of all the other competitors.

Greens in regulation is key here and you need to be able to move the ball both ways onto greens that run pretty fast at 13 on the stimpmeter.

Our first pick is second favourite behind Rory, Henrik Stenson.

Stenson had knee surgery in the off season which makes his 3rd position two weeks ago in his comeback tournament all the more impressive.

Second on our list is Thomas Pieters.

He finished 2nd for us recently. His form last week was very average on paper but it now transpires that he was suffering from some sort of virus which has given his odds a nice boost this week.

Another of our recent selections is George Coetzee.

George, like Stenson, has had surgery on one of his legs in the past year although it was George’s ankle that was the problem rather than his knee. He likes the ‘Desert Swing’ with four top 5’s between 2012 and 2014. He finished 5th here two years ago and was seventh in his most recent start. I’m backing big George to have a standout year in 2016.

Our final pick is a live outsider at $91, Marcel Siem.

The fiery German has attempted to put a largely disappointing 2015 behind him by firing all of his team including his caddie and his coach! He finished 4th here in 2012 and is a proven winner on the European Tour.
