The European Tour and Asia Tour team up in Western Australia for the Perth International and i’m really keen on a local player to take this out.
That player is Brett Rumford.
We’ve backed the five times winner on the European Tour several times over the last few months and I’m convinced he’s ready to win. Two weeks ago in the Tswane Open he followed a mediocre opening round with rounds of 67, 68 and 66. He was 6th here in 2013 and should know the course well, being from Perth. He’s had a week off so jet lag should not be an issue.
Irishman Paul Dunne rose to prominence with a top 5 finish at the Open Championship last year and its the skills that saw him play so well that week that should stand him in good stead in Perth where the wind will almost certainly blow hard. He missed his last two cuts but a 9th and a 13th placing before that suggests he may not be completely out of form.
