We welcome in the New Year with five of the usual supposed no-hopers.
Forest Green vs Torquay
Torquay beat Forest Green on Boxing Day by four goals to one and it was a deserved victory, even if the margin was a touch flattering. Torquay had 12 shots with 7 on target to Forest Green’s 11 with 5 on target. Torquay have since lost to top of the table Cheltenham but only had one fewer shot and shot on target that day and could well have come away with a point or even three.
Torquay, will, for the first time in ages go into a game with a bit of confidence.

Braintree vs Boreham Wood
To say that Braintree like to keep it tight in the first half at home is somewhat of an understatement. They have yet to concede before half time at home with 8 of 11 matches going in goalless at the break. This game will be tight (under 2.5 goals is $1.69), as was Boreham Wood’s 1-0 victory against Braintree on Boxing Day. I foresee a similar result here.

Chester vs Altrincham
Alty have had a tough run of away games, playing and losing to Forest Green, Cheltenham and Tranmere without scoring a goal. They averaged 11 shots in those three games, however, and they should find things a bit easier against Chester.
