New Zealand vs Gold Coast

The Warriors kick off a bumper Anzac Day of matches when they host the Gold Coast Titans on Saturday afternoon.

New Zealand have won 5 of the past 7 clashes here with the Titans, including the last 4 straight.

In fact the Warriors have won the past 8 clashes at all venues and are have not lost to the Gold Coast since 2010.

High scoring has also ensued, with 6 of the past 8 clashes tallying 40pts or more.

The Warriors almost upset the Cowboys last week, which to me is better form than the Titans win over a depleted Penrith outfit, so take them to cover the line here.

Verdict: New Zealand -8.5 at $1.93 with Screenshot 2014-05-03 13.10.10

Newcastle vs North Qld

After a promising start to the season, Newcastle will be looking to bounce back after losing 3 straight when they take on the in-form North Qld Cowboys.

The Knights have a solid record winning 11 of 16 clashes with the Cowboys at this ground, including 5 of the past 7.

Points have also flowed with 7 of the past 8 matches here recording a total of 40pts or more.

I would like to tip the Overs here, however with the recent deluge the Newcastle area has encountered we could be looking at a rain affected surface which would dampen my enthusiasm of a high scoring match.

With that in mind I think this is almost a must win game for Newcastle in order to get their season back on track, so I think at worst they can keep this very close, if not win, so the Tri Bet once again appeals in what should be a keenly contested match.

Verdict: Tri Bet Either Team To Win by 6.5 Points or Less at $3.0 with Screenshot 2014-05-07 13.02.14

Roosters vs St George

The high flying Dragons travel to Allianz stadium to face the Roosters in this traditional Anzac Day clash on Saturday afternoon.

The Roosters have won 12 of the past 21 clashes with St George at this ground, including the past 4 straight.

The Dragons however have the edge on Anzac day, winning 8 of the past 13 clashes against their opponents.

St George have been flying in recent weeks, although this promises to be a stiff test as the Roosters look to bounce back from a narrow loss last week.

Given the recent wet weather I can see this being a very dour affair, so the +6.5 start on offer for the Dragons appears generous.

Despite this I’m going with the Tri Bet, as I don’t see the Dragons winning this by more than 6pts and it gives us insurance on a narrow Roosters victory also if that were to happen.

Verdict: Tri Bet Either Team To Win by 6.5 Points or Less at $3.10 with Screenshot 2014-05-07 13.02.14

Melbourne vs Manly

Cellar dwellers Manly will be desperate to get their season back on track and overcome their poor record here when they face Melbourne at AAMI Park.

Manly have won just 2 of the past 12 encounters at this ground with the Storm, with their last victory coming in 2010.

Melbourne have also won 6 of their past 7 here against all opponents, whilst Manly have lost 10 of their past 11 away games and face their fourth straight match on the road.

In saying that close, low scoring games tend to occur here, with 5 of the past 8 clashes recording 42pts or less and 4 of the past 5 games here having a winning margin of 1-12pts.

Manly won narrowly earlier this year and despite their poor form and lack of effort of late, I think they are overpriced here.

There is injury concerns over Storm halfback Cooper Cronk, so if he were to be a late omission then the +12 start on offer for Manly could appear awfully big, so we’ll snap that up and hope the market swings our way.

Verdict: Manly +12.5 Line at $1.86 with Screenshot 2015-01-22 11.13.35

Brisbane vs Parramatta

Brisbane round out a bumper Anzac day when they host the improving Parramatta Eels at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Eels recorded just their 7th away victory in 39 starts last week and will be looking to make it back to back away wins since god knows when.

Parramatta have a fair record here, winning 9 of the past 17 clashes at this venue including 3 of the last 4.

8 of the past 10 clashes have recorded 40pts or more, so with fine conditions forecast expect there to be plenty of ball movement in this one.

I actually like 2 plays in this one so I’ll list them both.

Given their record I think the +8 start for the Eels is generous, so we’ll take that as well as banking on plenty of points to be scored in what I expect to be a high scoring affair.

Verdict: Parramatta +8.5 at $1.92 with Screenshot 2014-05-09 12.32.15

Total Match Points Over 40.5 at $1.90 with Screenshot 2015-02-28 15.16.54
