Parramatta will be looking to continue their promising start to the 2015 season when they meet Western Sydney rivals the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium on Friday night.
Unfortunately this has not been a happy hunting ground for the Eels, as they have lost 15 of their past 16 matches here, as well as a diabolical 29 of their past 35 matches away from Parramatta Stadium.
The Bulldogs whilst missing influential five eighth Josh Reynolds will be buoyed by the fact they have won 7 of their past 8 matches against the Eels, and will be looking to bounce back after a Round 1 defeat at the hands of Penrith.
This shapes as an intriguing encounter and a good test for both teams.
Parramatta were subsequently thrashed the following week last year after a dominant Round 1 performance, whilst the Dogs were big winners after suffering a Round 1 loss.
I think this will be closer than the current prices suggest, and for that reason I think the value lies in backing either side to win in what shapes as a closely fought encounter.

Sharks vs Brisbane
Both sides will be looking to open their account in 2015 after poor performances in Round 1 when they do battle at Shark Park on Friday evening.
The Sharks have now lost their past 8 games at their home ground, as well as the last 2 here to their opponents.
Brisbane have fared little better having lost their past 6 away matches, however interestingly the past 5 clashes between these two sides has been won by the away side.
As the current market suggests, this really is a lottery that could go either way and based on each sides Round 1 performance I’m not overly keen to get involved.
For the sake of tipping something I’ll go with the Broncos to open their account here, as I think they have a little more upside than the Sharks at this point in time, however as stated previously this really isn’t a game to get too excited about.
