Bulldogs vs Souths

Good Friday begins with the Grand Final rematch of last year, when the Bulldogs clash with South Sydney.

The Bulldogs have won 14 of the past 22 clashes with Souths at this ground, however the Rabbitohs have the better recent record winning 4 of the past 5 encounters.

Just 1 of the past 7 encounters between these two has surpassed 40pts, and with rain forecast on a slippery ANZ Stadium surface we could well see more of the same here.

Both sides have begun the season well and have solid forward packs, so I can see this being a very keenly contested clash with limited scoring opportunities, so the Tri Bet appeals in what should be a tight affair throughout.

Verdict: Tri Bet Either Team to Win by 6.5 Points or Less at $3.0 with Screenshot 2015-02-28 15.16.54

Gold Coast vs Brisbane

The Titans will be looking for back to back victories when they host neighbours Brisbane on Friday evening.

Gold Coast tends to struggle against their northern counterparts, winning just 4 of the past 8 clashes here and a mere 5 of the past 17 overall.

Adding to that is the fact they have lost 10 of their past 11 clashes against all opponents at this ground, so no doubt they will be keen to buck this trend.

Only 1 of the past 10 encounters between the two at all venues has tallied over 40pts, and with key injuries in the Broncos backline we could well see a repeat of this.

Brisbane are certainly the better team, however with the injuries mentioned and back to back away games, I would be quite cautious of getting too involved with them here.

Most derby games are generally well contested for much of the match and I see this being no different, so will sit on the fence and hope for another close encounter.
