In a clash for the die-hards only, Wests Tigers host Wooden Spooner’s Cronulla on Saturday afternoon at Leichhardt Oval.
Both sides have had a miserable end to the season, and will merely be playing for pride and the chance to salvage something from a horror campaign.
The Tigers have won 8 of their past 12 home games against the Sharks, and 4 of the past 6 clashes at this particular venue.
Wests got the money 22-20 in the first meeting with the Sharks this season, and since 2005 they have won 12 of the 15 clashes at all venues against Cronulla.
In terms of betting there’s little to get enthusiastic about with this game, however considering both sides appear devoid of points I’m going to lean towards a low scoring match.
4 of Wests past 5 home matches against the Sharks have failed to surpass 38pts, and given the predicted rain and heavy nature of the Leichhardt track, this may well be the best way to go.
